2009 Rockpile DOUBLE MAGNUM
The 2009 growing season started with cold weather in March and April which delayed budburst to May in some vineyards of the Southern Okanagan. Spectacular weather later that spring and a warm dry summer helped the vines to catch up with the growth cycle and delivered bunches with small berries and rich, concentrated flavours. September was simply stunning and helped us bring home amazing grapes with fully developed flavours and ripe tannins. We used cellar practices that were gentle and respectful of the fruit. The wine was aged in French and American Oak for 16 months prior to bottling.
The Blend: 45 % Merlot, 5 % Cabernet Franc, 1 % Dornfelder, 45 % Syrah, 3 % Lemberger, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon
