The 2015 Stemwinder is light gold in colour. The aromas jump out of the glass, displaying tropical fruit, apricot and white peach notes, along with Asian pear and golden delicious apples. On the palate, the wine is rich, fat and unctuous, with a full bodied mouthfeel and very long, intense flavours.
The 2015 growing season was long, dry and extremely hot. The grapes for this wine were sourced from The Blind Creek Vineyard in the Similkameen Valley and several vineyards in the Okanagan Valley. Plagued by forest fires in August, we had weeks where the smoke blocked out the sun, cooling down the temperatures and slowing down photosynthesis. Overall, the momentum of the warm season could not be denied and most varietals ripened 3-4 weeks ahead of normal with outstanding quality. During the harvest period, the grapes from each vineyard were sampled bi-weekly to measure flavour development and sugar content, and each vineyard parcel was picked at its optimum point of flavour for the intended style, which is rich and round, and intensely fruit-driven.
48% Chardonnay 39% Viognier 9% Marsanne 4% Roussanne
The grapes for the 2015 Stemwinder were picked on various dates in September, 2015. They were carefully hand-sorted and gently whole-bunch pressed, before 24 hours of cold settling. Fermentation took place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and neutral French oak barrels, with occasional lees stirring to build a richer texture in the wine. The final blend was assembled in March 2015 and bottling took place in early April.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this full, decadent wine with crab or lobster bisque, halibut with creamy sauce, oysters, and creamier cheeses like blue and brie. Of course, Stemwinder also pairs well with a comfy chair, moments of quiet contemplation, and your plans to take over the world.

This would be a good choice for those who want to try white wine. Chilled it is refreshing and pairs well with sea food or curries.
