2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
This bold, full-bodied red is bursting with black currant and BBQ spices on the nose and brimming with blackberry and currant on the palate. The balance of spice, oak, and acidity make this big Cab the perfect companion for cheese, charcuterie, dark chocolate of a fine cigar. Decant it an hour or two before serving—if you’ve got that kind of time.
The 2018 growing season got off to a great start but in mid-July smoke from fires in the Pacific Northwest blocked much of the sunlight which slowed down ripening dramatically. The result of this was wines with lower alcohol levels, ripe fruit flavours and balanced acidity.
