The 2019 Road 13 Rose has a lovely soft colour and aromas of strawberry compote and pomegranate. This elegant nose carries nicely into a palate of delicate, fresh berries. Giving this beautifully balanced wine a lingering finish.
The 2019 vintage started with a very warm spring and summer which provided earlier season ripening (especially to earlier ripening grape varieties). The Fall was cooler than usual, allowing ripe fruit character to be harnessed from each grape variety while maintaining the acidity balance in the final wines. Each grape variety was harvested at its optimal point of flavour development.
Each grape variety was individually harvested and sorted before being destemmed and gently crushed. The juice was then kept on the skins overnight to extract a ‘kiss’ of colour before being gently pressed off the skins to tank. The juice was settled, racked and slowly fermented at a cool temperature to capture and preserve the lively, fresh fruit flavours and aromas found in this delicate and complex wine.
